Scott Singh B.A.
I am offering guitar, bass, piano and software lessons. I teach both private and ensemble lessons in the Toronto area, as well as correspondence lessons via the Internet.
Areas of study include: Technique, voice leading, harmony/re-harmonization, finger style guitar, chord melody, Jazz, Blues and straight ahead pop guitar/piano/bass.
As far as improvising is concerned I have a wealth of material and knowledge both known to me and I also have an extensive library on the subject of improvisation. My teaching style tends to be mathematically structured so that the student can organize the amount of vast material that one must have together to be able to improvise from an unconscious intuitive state of mind. The theory I cover is functional in that it helps analyze music, compose music and improvise which is another form of static composition.
I can also teach composition and arranging on both PC and Mac platforms and am well versed in all the major DAWs in current use.
Private lessons are conducted 1 on 1 in the Toronto area. Both 1/2 hour and 1 hour lessons are available.
